The Road So Far
A couple of years ago this idea got in my head to move from Minden and try something new. I’ve been thinking, planning, and dreaming, and doing nothing. Finally, that point came where it was time to just do it. There are plenty of reasons why I chose to upend my life and make this drastic change, which I will bore none of you with. The primary focus here is to catalog my journey, things I learned, and maybe some funny disaster stories (it won’t be funny at the time, but I’ll laugh later here with all of you).
The point is: In about a month or so I’m going to load my personal stuff into a pod of some sort and ship it east, load my car on a truck to ship it east, and then climb in my shiny new RV with my laptop, 2 cats, 1 dog, and assorted oboes, a bicycle, and whatever crap I can fit in there without destroying the miles per gallon. I’ll then take a leisurely journey across the United States until I land in Virginia.
What I am doing is killing two bucket list items: I always wanted to try life on the east coast, and I always wanted to own an RV and drive it anywhere I wanted to go (what I affectionately call my House on Wheels). It may not be the most reasonable course of action, which many of you know is out of character for me. It’s scary and exciting and terrifying, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. The part I’ve lost with myself is my ability to try new things, no matter how much they take me out of my comfort zone. I’m facing that head on.
So here we go. I have a few blog post drafts and I’ll do my best to beat my other blog’s record of being the Least Updated Site on the Internet.
